Fundraising activities
All funds the Narooma Lions Club raises are returned to the community. Most funds are provided for the benefit of the local community, with some funds going to Lions International to further worldwide community projects.
Over the past 12 months, Narooma Lions Club has raised funds through various fundraising activities.
The Narooma Family Fun Day
This was a morning where participants could ride, skate, scoot or rollerblade along Narooma's cycleways and return for a barbecue and games in one of the parks.
Garage sale
This fundraising activity is held each year to raise funds for worthwhile community projects. The garage sale held during 2007 provided much-needed funds towards the Narooma Cemetery Pavilion project.
The Narooma Bike Ride
The family fun ride was held in 2006, and raised over $2000. Riders from Sydney, Melbourne, Wollongong, Canberra and Bowral rode from Narooma along the Scenic Road to the historic village of Central Tilba. The Central Tilba Rural Fire Service provided lunch for the cyclists.
On return to Narooma, cyclists were provided with a spit roast, and were able to talk to other cyclists about rides and other cycling activities.
Parking at the Narooma Blues Festival
Narooma Lions provided support to the organisers of the Narooma Blues Festival in October each year, and are responsible for camping arrangements for those attending the festival.
Barbecues
Narooma Lions hold regular barbecues to raise funds for community projects. These are often held in conjunction with other activities, such as the Tilba Festival at Easter, and on Sundays at the popular Bar Beach swimming area.
